The first discussion about Rob’s Interview Summary Report.
March 20, 2016
In the course of my interviews, I learned that some in our congregational family have felt excluded, omitted or slighted at times in the life of the church. These feelings arise from the fact that they did not grow up “Mennonite, ” do not have an ethnic name or did not attend a Mennonite school. For these reasons, real and perceived, we are experiencing division and loss in our church. I have invited a few of these folks to engage in a dialogue with three other active listeners for our adult education class this Sunday. This is not a debate, I intend it to be a dialogue on inclusion and intentions, an opportunity to listen, ask questions and above all develop understanding. I pray that the concept of yieldedness, the hallmark of the Christian church, will guide our time together. ~ Rob

Many Christians today are far too comfy with mainstream corporate culture. Tame as we have become, how might we become salt and light in today’s world? How might we bring forth some of the society-changing values of our Mennonite ancestors as we approach the 500th anniversary of Anabaptism? Author Todd Wynward shares some of his own life experiments in living an earth-honoring, empire-resisting, despair-crushing way of following Jesus.
